The lyrics of the song "Please Please Me" by
the Beatles are about a man who asks his lover to satisfy him in the same way he satisfies her. He expresses his needs and asks her to reciprocate.
The text begins with the singer addressing his girlfriend and saying, "Last night I said these words to my girl." He is aware that she doesn't even try to satisfy him and he asks her to change that: "Come on, come on, come on, come on. Come on, come on, come on, come on. Please, please me, oh yeah, like I please you."
He feels that he is not needed to show her how to love: "You don't need me to show the way, love." He wonders why he always has to say that he loves her: "Why do I always have to say I love you?" He urges her again: "Come on, come on, come on, come on. Come on, come on, come on, come on. Please, please me, oh yeah, like I please you."
The singer sometimes feels frustrated because there is always rain in his heart. However, he notices that he does everything to make her happy, but it's hard to argue with her: "I don't want to complain, but you know there's always rain in my heart. I do everything to please you, but it's so hard to reason with you. Oh yeah, why do you make me blue?"
The text ends again with the singer addressing his girlfriend and saying, "Last night I said these words to my girl." He reminds her that she should take care of him in the same way he takes care of her: "Please, please me, oh yeah, like I please you. Oh yeah, like I please you. Oh yeah, like I please you."
