Interpretation

"8 Mile Battle III" is a song lyric by Eminem that appears in the movie "8 Mile". The song is about a rap battle where the protagonist, played by Eminem, faces off against his opponent Papa Doc.

At the beginning of the song lyric, Eminem calls out to the people from his neighborhood, the 313 (Detroit area code), to follow him ("Now everybody from the 313, Put your motherfucking hands up and follow me"). He notices that his opponent is not as confident ("Notice that this man did not have his hands up") and claims that the members of Papa Doc's crew, Free World, are just hyping him up ("This Free World got you gased up").

In the chorus, Eminem counts down the Pacs, referencing rapper 2Pac, but also implying that his opponent is not a real threat ("1 pac, 2 pac, 3 pac, 4, 4 pac, 3 pac, 2 pac, 1, You're pac, he's pac, no pac, none!").

He then claims that his opponent is not a true MC and references his own weaknesses that could be used against him ("I am white, I am a fuckin bum, I do live in a trailer with my mom"). He explains that despite all the difficulties, he's still standing there, screaming "FUCK THE FREE WORLD!"

Eminem then reveals something about Papa Doc, that he went to a private school ("You went to Cranbrook, that's a private school"). He questions Papa Doc's authenticity and toughness, describing him as a coward ("This guy's a gangster? His real name is Clarence, And Clarence lives at home with both parents").

In the end of the song lyric, Eminem declares that he's a piece of fucking white trash and says it proudly. He gives up the battle, as he doesn't care about winning, and challenges Papa Doc to tell the people something they don't know about him ("Here, tell this people something they dont know about me")."
